Our Story

The Journey of BeCompassionateNL

BeCompassionateNL was founded by Dr. Frances Scully, a physician and certified Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) instructor, to bring evidence-based compassion practices to individuals and communities across Newfoundland and beyond. Drawing from neuroscience, contemplative traditions, and compassion research, we offer programs that strengthen our capacity for empathy, resilience, and emotional balance in daily life.

Our Approach

Where Science Meets Spiritual Wisdom

We integrate modern neuroscience and timeless contemplative traditions to cultivate compassion, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and deepen spiritual connection in daily life.

The Science of Compassion
Grounded in neuroscience and psychology, our programs reveal how compassion reshapes the brain, enhancing empathy, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing.
The Power of Spirituality
Rooted in contemplative wisdom, especially Christian meditation and mindfulness, our practices nurture inner peace, awareness, and a deeper sense of connection.
